Shop drawings are the architect’s last chance to correct any mistakes or updates to the contract documents prior to the release of the associated materials by the contractor. Architects must consider all relevant information when reviewing shop drawings, the basis of which is to ensure that buildings are safe for the public. This course will explain the shop drawing process and showcase examples of how a thorough examination of shop drawings can prevent undue harm to building occupants.
