Risks are abundant in the architecture and construction industry. The most consequential risk is endangering the health or safety of any building occupants. Although cost and schedule are important risks to manage, this course will focus on the performance aspects of risk mitigation through healthy building strategies. Designing a healthy building alleviates the risk while providing a better space for everyone to use. Throughout design and construction, risk assessments should be performed regularly to maintain the Architect’s duty to their client and to the public by mitigating the risk when found. This course will detail some risk assessments that can be made along the way, and the potential outcomes of choices made from those assessments.
